Coach's Corner - V
The varsity volleyball season is focused on capitalizing on all of the skills that have been developed throughout a players modified and junior varsity seasons. The varsity team's players are still learning and furthering their skills but at a more competitive level. At this level players are seeking out opportunities to further their careers in college and potentially receive scholarships.
The girls varsity volleyball season requires players to be well conditioned in order for them to be able to compete in a match from start to finish. We stress the importance of fitness and nutrition to our players; in order to be successful in the sport of volleyball a player must exude strong stamina and endurance and with that comes making sure they are exercising consistently and consuming the proper foods in order to perform at their maximum and best capability. For anyone that is interested in joining the volleyball program it is strongly recommended that you workout and get some volleyball touches daily. We recommend attending as many summer opportunities as possible to gain volleyball touches whether it be through private lessons, camps or open gyms around the area.
The volleyball program as a whole requires our athletes to be peek performers in the classroom and on the court. Students must be able to manage their schoolwork load in order to participate on the team. We have practices or games everyday after school during the week, with some tournaments on the weekends; and all players are required to attend every practice and game. We expect our athletes to work hard at all times and be responsible and positive influences on and off the court!
Tryout Requirements:
- Each athlete is required to attend all three days of tryouts. If there are any conflict dates with the tryouts please contact both the athletic department and I to make arrangements.
- All athletes need to be signed up through Final Forms.
- Please come prepared with: appropriate workout attire, running sneakers, court sneakers, a water bottle and ready to work hard!
