Coach's Corner - Varsity

In 2022, Amherst Central High School piloted a girls varsity flag football team in a collaboration between Section VI, New York State Public High School Athletic Association, Buffalo Bills, Nike, New York Jets, and the New York Giants. There were 12 local teams in the pilot year with hope of a regional and state championship. Amherst received a $3,000 grant from the Buffalo Bills, $1,000 from the Amherst Tigers Booster Club and $1,200 from the Amherst Alumni Association to offset expenses in the pilot year. Nike provided up to 20 uniforms.
