Wrestling - Boys

Varsity wrestling team
Our Varsity Wrestling Program consists of competitions for our top 15 wrestlers at the following weight classes: 99, 106, 113, 120, 126, 132, 138, 145, 152, 160, 170, 182, 195, 220 and 285 Pounds.

This level requires wrestlers who have developed a combination of physical strength, knowledge of techniques, and mental toughness.

The top wrestler in each weight class is determined through the boys wrestling each other in wrestle-offs.

Wrestlers will wrestle in dual meets whenever the opposing team has a wrestler of appropriate weight.  If the opposing team does not have a wrestler at that weight class our wrestler is awarded a forfeit and our team gains the maximum possible points for that bout.

The bulk of Varsity experience is gained at tournaments.  Tournaments come in a variety of formats including team dual meet, individual round robin and indivdual bracketed.  Regardless of the format,  these tournaments are all day affairs, allowing all participants multiple matches.

A Varsity Letter is earned when a wrestler accumulates 12 points.  Wrestlers earn 2 points for a victory and one point for a loss.
